Australian thrash metal pioneers MORTAL SIN have kicked off their long-awaited reunion tour, playing their first show in more than 14 years on January 31 at the Froth & Fury festival in Adelaide, Australia.
The concert was captured on fan-filmed video, which can be seen below.
MORTAL SIN's current lineup consists of original members Mat Maurer (vocals) and Andy Eftichiou (bass), joined by Nathan Shea (guitar), Ryan Huthnance (guitar), and Sydney drummer George Delinicolis of LIVEWIRE and BASTARDIZER.
The band is celebrating their 40th anniversary with a special tour, which will see them perform in Australia before embarking on international dates.
Their Australian tour kicks off in March, followed by an appearance at Germany's Keep it True festival in April.
In a recent interview with Metal Roos Link, Mat Maurer discussed the band's reunion and future plans.
When asked about the chances of MORTAL SIN writing and recording fresh music in the not-too-distant future, Mat said: "Yeah.
It's been discussed.
No one's agreed to anything yet...
If we're gonna write something, even if it's like in two years' time, I need to remember how to write again." Regarding their tour dates, Maurer stated: "Well, look – one step at a time.
When we said we'd start this, we said, 'Let's just do something for the 40th anniversary.' We feel we deserve to do that...
If there's enough there to push us into doing more, then we'll do more." MORTAL SIN has released several albums over the years, including their debut LP "Mayhemic Destruction", which was recorded in Sydney on July 25, 1986.
Their latest album, "Psychology Of Death", was released in Europe in November 2011 via NoiseArt Records.
The band will embark on an extensive tour to celebrate their 40th anniversary and promote their reunion shows.
Their Australian tour kicks off in March and will see them perform in various cities around the country.
