After almost two decades of no new music, Mudvayne has re-released their newest singles “Hurt People Hurt People” and “Sticks and Stones” with revised mixes.
The band initially released the songs last year, but reportedly not everyone was happy with them, including the band members themselves, management, and fans.
The new mixes were handled by Dave Fortman, who explained in a comment on Mudvayne's subreddit that he remixed the tracks due to feedback from fans indicating they felt like demo releases.
Fortman stated that the original mixes weren't demos but rather a result of the band's dissatisfaction with Josh Wilbur's mix, and he added piano notes and strings to “Sticks and Stones” to create a new sound.
The revised mixes are now available on streaming platforms for fans to enjoy.
