NAPALM DEATH has confirmed ongoing songwriting sessions for its seventeenth studio album, with bassist Shane Embury detailing progress in a new interview. The British grindcore pioneers are working with longtime producer Russ Russell at his Parlour Studios in Kettering, United Kingdom. Embury confirmed that the band has completed initial recordings of guitar and bass tracks, with drummer Danny Herrera free to experiment with arrangements and tempo.

The band has not set a final release date for the new album, but Embury indicated that music could surface as early as late 2027, with potential lyric writing beginning during a November tour date. No definitive timeline has been established, and the project remains open-ended, with Russell offering no fixed deadline for completion.

The new album follows the 2022 release of the mini-album "Resentment Is Always Seismic - A Final Throw Of Throes", a partner recording to the 2020 album "Throes Of Joy In The Jaws Of Defeatism", both released via Century Media Records. The eight-song mini-album spans 29 minutes and was made available in limited CD digipak, vinyl, and digital formats.

NAPALM DEATH, known for its uncompromising extremity and political critique, continues to develop new material under the guidance of Russell, with no indication of a change in lineup or direction at this time.
