Houston black metal alchemists Necrofier have unveiled a new video for their scorching track "Fires Of The Apocalypse, Light My Path I", which comes by way of their latest full-length, Transcend Into Oblivion.
Released February 27th on Metal Blade Records, Transcend Into Oblivion sees Necrofier applying their signature Texan intensity to the icy atmospheres of mid-'90s Norway.
The result is a modern classic of black metal form, where tempestuous squalls of extremity punctuate sinister, melancholic melodies that twinkle in the gloom like will-o'-the-wisps on a black night.
The track's vocalist/guitarist Bakka comments, "The beginning when your eyes see for the first time.
Something in you has changed but you don’t know what it is yet.
You’re drawn to it, it consumes you.
You are not the person you were before, but you don’t know why and how yet." The band's latest video features footage that visually captures the song's themes of transformation and change.
Transcend Into Oblivion was recorded at Southwing Studios and House Of Thorns in Houston, Texas, produced and engineered by Joel Hamilton with assistant engineering by Chris Kritikos, and mixed by Joel Hamilton at Studio G in Brooklyn, New York.
The record features artwork by JosĂ© Gabriel AlegrĂa Sabogal and will be released on CD and digital formats as well as 2xLP w/ etching on Side D + four-page insert and DLC in the following color variants: Cosmic Storm (Clear Brown Black Marbled), Enchantment (Cloudy Clear/Red Marbled), Transcend (Gold W/ Black Splatter), and Cursed (Black Powder Splatter).
