The reformed lineup of METAL CHURCH made its live debut on May 17 at the San Luis Metal Fest in Mexico.
The band played alongside Kurdt Vanderhoof, Rick Van Zandt, David Ellefson and Ken Mary as well as vocalist Brian Allen.
This new formation follows nearly two years after METAL CHURCH canceled its tour dates due to Vanderhoof's ongoing back issues.
Their latest album, "Dead To Rights", was released on April 10 via Rat Pak Records.
Vanderhoof discussed the band's revitalized lineup in a December interview with "The David Ellefson Show".
He explained that it began when Brian Allen came through his friend Todd La Torre and sent some audition tapes to Vanderhoof.
Upon hearing Allen's vocals, Vanderhoof was inspired by the similarity to late METAL CHURCH vocalist David Wayne.
The band went on to recruit Ken Mary and reinvigorated their sound.
METAL CHURCH quickly established themselves as one of the most formidable bands in the early '80s metal scene.
Their self-titled debut "Metal Church" and its follow-up "The Dark" remain essential listening in heavy metal canon.
The band hit the road with Metallica and further solidified their reputation for precision, power and uncompromising intensity.
This new lineup follows Marc Lopes, who tragically passed away in July 2021.
METAL CHURCH made its live debut with Lopes on June 3, 2023 at the Legions Of Metal festival in Chicago.
Their sound continues to evolve as they tour with their reinvigorated lineup and new album "Dead To Rights".
