NIGHTWISH has confirmed an extended hiatus from live performances, with no plans for any tours in the near future. The decision, made by the band members collectively, is described as temporary and not terminal. According to multi-instrumentalist Troy Donockley, the break was driven by concerns over burnout from years of extensive touring, which has affected all members personally and professionally.

The band emphasized that the hiatus has no set end date and that there is no official timeline for a potential return to live shows. \n\nNIGHTWISH's latest studio album, "Yesterwynde", was released in September 2024 via Nuclear Blast and marks the band's tenth studio record. The album follows 2020's "Human.

Floor Jansen, the band's lead singer, confirmed her solo album "Hytress" will be released on January 15, 2027, via REVAMP Music/Warner Music. A comprehensive global tour in 2027 will support the release, spanning club stages across Europe and South America.

Jansen also revealed in October 2023 that she and SABATON drummer Hannes Van Dahl welcomed their second child, a daughter named Lucy. Jansen first joined NIGHTWISH in 2013 following the departure of Anette Olzon. She has toured extensively with the band and appeared on three live albums: "Showtime, Storytime", "Vehicle Of Spirit", and "Decades: Live In Buenos Aires".
