In a recent interview with Alejandrosis, OBITUARY frontman John Tardy revealed that the band is actively collecting rhythms and ideas for a potential new studio album.

When asked about the possibility of a new release, he stated that it's their goal to start putting some of this material together this year and potentially releasing another record next year or so.

Tardy also discussed the idea of touring with fellow Florida death metal bands DEICIDE, CANNIBAL CORPSE, MORBID ANGEL, and CANNIBAL CORPSE, stating that they have always been friends with these bands and would be open to sharing the stage with them.

However, he noted that it's not a guaranteed possibility due to the busy schedules of all parties involved.

OBITUARY recently announced a headlining tour for March with support from CASTRATOR and INTOXICATED, which will also feature two shows as the opening act for ACID BATH.

In related news, OBITUARY drummer Donald Tardy previously expressed uncertainty about releasing a new album in 2026 or 2027 due to the unpredictability of the music industry.

However, he stated that they're taking their time writing the best songs they can and will potentially record another album if they still feel inspired to do so.

OBITUARY's latest studio album, "Dying Of Everything", was released in January 2023 via Relapse Records.
