Dark Prophecies' 1995 demo On the Edge of Black Eternity is a hidden gem in the world of death doom, featuring solid sound quality and engaging songwriting.

The artwork on the release looks professional, but unfortunately, very little information can be found about the band online.

Drummer Peter Kodzorowski, who played with Dark Prophecies before joining Polish progressive metal band Riverside, remains a mystery behind his tenure with the group.

Their guitarist, Ralph, also had a stint in Polish death metal band Hate between 1995 and 2001 before disappearing from the scene.

The vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Mina G Laurent's sole contribution to metal was on this very demo.

Unfortunately, their prior demo Vergil from 1991 remains lost to time, with only a low-quality scan of its cover available online through Metal Archives.

Despite the band's elusive nature, On the Edge of Black Eternity is worth seeking out for fans of death doom.
