Finnish melodic death metal heavyweights Omnium Gatherum are currently wrapping up the final shows of their Finnish tour this weekend in JyvÀskylÀ and Helsinki.

The band will embark on their European headline tour on February 11, with Fallujah and In Mourning as special guests.

To fuel their live season, they have released a brand-new surprise single, “Moongold.” The track was recorded during the sessions for their album May The Bridges We Burn Light The Way, which received widespread praise from the international music press.

Jukka Pelkonen (vocals) comments: 'Moongold' follows the overall style of the album.

It’s fast and packed with energy, and while the song is somewhat stripped down, its layers reveal themselves after a few spins.” Markus Vanhala (guitar) adds: 'Moongold' was originally released as an ‘Eastern wonder,’ meaning a Japan-exclusive around the time the album came out.

However, we ultimately decided to leave it off the album itself, as it didn’t quite fit the overall flow and we wanted the record to be a short, sharp burst of aggression.” The single is now available for streaming/download at Omnium Gatherum’s official website Link.

Omnium Gatherum has been known for their melodic death metal sound since their formation in 1996 in the coastal town of Karhula.

They will enter their 30th anniversary year with this tour, widely regarded as one of Finland’s most active and internationally touring metal bands.
