Verni, who is sitting out the current tour due to physical issues stemming from shoulder surgery.
According to Verni himself, he has undergone multiple surgeries and his arm has not fully recovered.,Verni revealed that after having another rotator cuff and bicep tear on both shoulders, he underwent physical therapy but still experienced significant discomfort while playing bass.
He stated: "It's only playing bass.
I can't play sitting down anymore at all." However, Verni confirmed that he is still a full-fledged member of OVERKILL and is actively working on new material with the rest of the band.,The veteran thrash metal outfit has been demoing songs for their upcoming album, which they aim to release early next year.
Guitarist Bobby "Blitz" Ellsworth discussed the progress of the songwriting sessions during a SiriusXM interview: "I think we're always working on new music." The band has nine or ten songs scratched out and plans to enter the studio soon to finalize their material.,This is not the first time Verni has taken a hiatus from touring with OVERKILL.
In April 2024, he rested his arm due to shoulder surgery during the group's Latin American tour, where they were joined by former MEGADETH bassist David Ellefson as a temporary replacement.,OVERKILL played their first show with Christian Olde Wolbers on August 30, 2024 at the Posada Rock festival in Câmpulung Muscel, Romania.
In September 2025, Verni spoke about OVERKILL's upcoming LP during an interview: "We are demoing stuff right now." The band continues to work on new material and looks forward to releasing their next album soon.
