Sharon Osbourne has officially confirmed plans to revive Ozzfest in 2027, marking the first new edition of the influential metal festival since 2018.
The announcement was made during a February 6 interview at MIDEM 2026 in Cannes, France.
When asked about reviving the festival, Sharon expressed enthusiasm for bringing back the event.
"Yes, absolutely," she stated.
"Yeah, we're gonna do it." However, the original festival format may undergo significant changes.
Sharon has been discussing with Live Nation about reviving the festival and now envisions a refreshed format that could branch out beyond traditional heavy metal genres while still honoring Ozzfest's roots.
The revival was necessitated by the escalating performance fees and management demands that made it "not cost effective anymore" for the Osbourne family to continue hosting the festival in its original form.
In discussing why Ozzfest stopped initially, Sharon cited the escalating costs of staging the event on a national scale as a major obstacle.
