In a recent interview with The Joel Martin Mastery Podcast, P.O.D.

frontman Sonny Sandoval discussed his memoir, "Son Of Southtown: My Life Between Two Worlds", and his solo project SONNY DREAD.

Sandoval attributed the inspiration for writing his book and creating solo music to the encouragement of his peers and friends.

The COVID-19 pandemic sparked both projects, as it gave him time to sit down and write a book and record new music.

He expressed gratitude for the opportunity to be creative instead of just waiting for the world to end.

Sandoval's memoir offers a fast-paced look at his life from birth until before the pandemic.

However, he acknowledges that there is much more depth to his story beyond his fame as P.O.D.'s frontman.

The book takes a personal look at his ups and downs, struggles, faith, and calling, which he hopes will continue to inspire fans through new music recordings.

As Sandoval continues to be busy with both P.O.D.

and his solo work, he sees the appreciation of fans as motivation to keep pushing forward.
