PARADISE LOST has revealed their seventeenth studio album, 'Ascension', set for release in September 2025. The record follows their 2020 album 'Obsidian' and marks the band's first new LP in five years. Produced by guitarist Gregor Mackintosh and mixed and mastered by Lawrence Mackrory, 'Ascension' continues the group's legacy of dark, atmospheric metal.

Formed in Halifax in 1988, PARADISE LOST emerged as pioneers of gothic metal with their 1991 debut 'Gothic', blending heaviness with haunting melodies. Over four decades, the band has evolved through diverse musical phases, including sludge doom, mainstream metal and experimental electronic elements, influencing artists such as CRADLE OF FILTH, HIM, GATECREEPER and CHELSEA WOLFE. The current lineup includes Nick Holmes on vocals, Gregor Mackintosh on lead guitar and keyboards, Aaron Aedy on rhythm guitar, Stephen Edmondson on bass, and Jeff Singer on drums.

The band remains one of the most influential forces in gothic and dark metal, with over two million albums sold worldwide. The album's production and release confirm a continuation of their creative output amid a long-standing career.
