Legendary BAD COMPANY and FREE vocalist Paul Rodgers has squashed rumors about his health following the revelation that he had been approached to sing on an album with VAN HALEN drummer Alex Van Halen and TOTO guitarist Steve Lukather.
In a statement released via social media, Rodgers confirmed that his health is good and he feels fit and strong after undergoing surgery for high blood pressure in 2024.
Rodgers will perform at the Adopt The Arts Sound And Vision Awards on March 2nd in Palm Springs, an event where VAN HALEN has invited him to work on a track with them.
He expressed his gratitude towards the band for the opportunity and mentioned that he is enjoying his current "zen phase" of life.
Rodgers' recent health issues stem from suffering 11 minor strokes and two major strokes several years ago, which required him to undergo a carotid endarterectomy surgery in recovery.
The now-76-year-old singer returned to playing the guitar and singing six months after the surgery and eventually released his solo album "Midnight Rose" in September 2023.
BAD COMPANY guitarist Mick Ralphs died earlier last year due to complications from a stroke he suffered in 2016, making Rodgers and founding drummer Simon Kirke the last two surviving members from the band's original lineup.
BAD COMPANY had been eligible for induction since 1999 and received its first nomination in 2025.
Rodgers ranked No.
55 on Rolling Stone's list of the 100 Greatest Singers of All Time.
