KISS frontman Paul Stanley spoke about STANLEY SIMMONS, the collaborative project of Evan Stanley and Nick Simmons, in a recent interview with The Drew Lane Show.
The duo's debut single ""Body Down"" was released in December, and a full-length album is set to arrive later this year.
Paul praised Evan and Nick's musical chemistry, saying it's ""frigging phenomenal."" He also dismissed accusations of nepotism surrounding the project, stating that ""if you suck, you'll fall on your face."" Paul acknowledged that STANLEY SIMMONS will likely face criticism from fans, but emphasized that his sons' music is authentic and organic.
Evan and Nick spoke about their musical partnership in a recent episode of the Caught On The Mike podcast.
They discussed how they came together to make music after years of friendship, with Evan saying ""it was never supposed to be a project."" Nick added that their connection feels like a third voice, something new.
STANLEY SIMMONS's upcoming debut album is being helmed by GREEN DAY producer Rob Cavallo, who expressed excitement about the project.
He noted that the duo's music has nothing to do with the sound of KISS and that they're kind of like the new Laurel Canyon mystical and magical.
The project's musical direction has been influenced by roots stuff and Americana folk.
Evan told Tmrw magazine that their dads' influence is not as strong as people might think, saying ""we grew up loving a lot of roots stuff."" Nick added that they were excited to make music in this style.
STANLEY SIMMONS's musical partnership has been praised by Paul Stanley and his son Gene Simmons.
Gene told the New York Post that their sons' connection is special and that it feels like something magic.
He also expressed pride in Evan and Nick's talent and acknowledged that they're both great guys with really great talent.
