In a recent interview at the Sonic Temple festival in Columbus, Ohio, POP EVIL frontman Leigh Kakaty revealed that he and his bandmates have been putting aside work on material for their next album, which will be the follow-up to 2025's "What Remains".

This comes as the band marks the first anniversary of their iconic album with a limited edition release called "What Remains (Midnight Edition)", featuring new tracks like "The Decay" and a reimagined version of the iconic 80s anthem "Don't You (Forget About Me)".

Kakaty expressed his excitement about exploring new musical avenues with his bandmates Joey Walser and Blake Allison, who joined POP EVIL in 2018.

He mentioned that the band has been discussing writing together since then, but things have moved quickly with member changes.

Kakaty also spoke about how he wore his personal emotions on his sleeve during the creation of "What Remains", which was a deeply introspective album for him.

With their new release, POP EVIL solidified their status as unapologetic and impossible to ignore statement-makers in the metal scene.
