POSSESSED has confirmed it will record its follow-up to 2019's 'Revelations Of Oblivion' album in September.

Frontman Jeff Becerra announced the progress of songwriting and recording sessions in a video message shared on July 31.

He stated that the band is fine-tuning tracks to enhance vocal intensity and heaviness, with the goal of producing a more powerful and darker record than previous efforts.

The new material will feature contributions from all band members, with guitarists Daniel Gonzalez and Claudeous Creamer, bassist Robert Cardenas, and drummer Chris Aguirre completing their parts before vocal sessions.

Becerra will record vocals in his basement before moving to professional studios for final mixing.

The full album will include the last three sets of lyrics, with Becerra describing the new direction as a 'whole different animal' and one of the band's darkest releases.

The band has previously released two demos following a 1990 reformation and reactivated in 2007 with a new lineup.

The new album is expected to be heavier, with more tempo shifts, and will be released as soon as possible after recording.

Becerra emphasized the band's commitment to quality, stating they will not release anything they consider inferior.

The project marks a significant evolution in the band's sound, building on the legacy of their 1985 debut album 'Seven Churches' and their 1987 EP 'The Eyes Of Horror'."
