Prescott Niles, founding member and bassist of THE KNACK, will reunite with the iconic power-pop group in Los Angeles next month.
The new lineup features Prescott Niles on bass, Gabe Niles on drums, Rocky Kramer on guitar, and Matt Starr on vocals.
This marks a return to live performances for THE KNACK after a hiatus following lead singer Doug Fieger's passing in 2010.
The band will celebrate their music and legacy with shows at the Canyon Club in Agoura Hills, California on May 2 and The Stratosphere in Las Vegas on June 6.
Prescott Niles has stated that the reunion feels right due to a personal request from his father before he passed away.
"People have encouraged me to put the band back together for years but it never felt right, until now," Prescott explained.
"One of the last things Doug said to me before he passed was, 'keep the music alive.'" The new lineup will focus on performing THE KNACK's extensive catalog, particularly from their first three albums.
The Canyon Club performance will feature a mix of old and new members, with Thomas Lowrey filling in on drums for the first show.
Prescott Niles has been active in music since his time away from THE KNACK, working on various projects including Josie Cotton, George Harrison and MISSING PERSONS.
The reunion marks an important chapter in THE KNACK's history and a celebration of their iconic sound.
The band's live debut with the new lineup promises to be a memorable experience for fans, blending Prescott Niles' commitment to THE KNACK's legacy with Matt Starr's deep understanding of the group's music.
The performance will undoubtedly honor the memory of Doug Fieger while introducing his vision to a new generation of listeners.
The Stratosphere show on June 6 marks another milestone in THE KNACK's continued relevance and influence within the power-pop genre.
