Music industry company Primary Wave has acquired the interests of iconic album cover art from Black Sabbath, Pink Floyd, and Led Zeppelin through its purchase of Hipgnosis co-founder Aubrey "Po" Powell's assets.

The deal does not include artworks featuring Pink Floyd or Led Zeppelin, but rather objects related to their covers, such as original props used in music videos.

In a statement, Powell expressed enthusiasm about the partnership with Primary Wave, citing their understanding and support for the artistic value of Hipgnosis imagery.

"I was at an impasse having reached a respectable grade of exhibitions," he said, "but without the backup, the connections and teamwork required to move on up I could expand no further." The acquisition is seen as a significant development in the art world's recognition of album cover art as a serious art form.
