Cleopatra Records has announced an all-star tribute album to Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow, titled Ride The Rainbow.
The album features performances from six Rainbow alumni, including Bob Daisley, Graham Bonnet, Don Airey, Joe Lynn Turner, Doogie White, and Ronnie Romero.
Additional guest artists include Candice Night of Blackmore's Night and Steve Morse, who took over as guitarist for Deep Purple after Ritchie Blackmore.
A single from the album has been released, "Long Live Rock 'N' Roll," which features performances by Bonnet, Airey, and Daisley, with Carmine Appice on drums.
The full Ride The Rainbow album will be out on June 19 and features tracks spanning Rainbow's entire history, from their debut album favorites to their final farewell tour in 1983.
The tribute album aims to celebrate the legacy of Ritchie Blackmore and his bandmates.
"It had a Cactus boogie, easy for me to play… it kicked ass then and now!" Carmine Appice says of the song "Long Live Rock 'N' Roll." The album also includes other notable tracks like "Man On The Silver Mountain" and "Street Of Dreams." The Ride The Rainbow album is available for pre-order now through Cleopatra Records, with digital editions available on June 19.
