Swedish heavy metal band RAM has released their new full-length album 'Against', available now on Metal Blade Records. The album features the title track 'Against', which was written during a period of intense personal reflection and embodies a theme of defiance against overwhelming opposition. The record marks a shift from the spiritual themes of their previous work, The Throne Within, to a more grounded exploration of resistance and refusal to yield.
Musically, RAM maintains a classic heavy metal sound, favoring bridge pickups and drawing inspiration from early acts like Dio, MSG, and Sweet. The album was recorded with an emphasis on authenticity and raw energy, rejecting modern production trends in favor of an unpolished, direct sound. This approach reflects a broader evolution in the band's songwriting, prioritizing clarity and emotional impact over technical complexity.
'Against' is available in multiple vinyl variants including 180g Black, Clear Lilac Marbled, Purple Melt (limited to 300 copies), Crystal Clear Blackdust (limited to 300 copies), and Silver Black Splatter (limited to 250 copies). The album is available on CD and digital platforms via Metal Blade Records.
RAM has also announced a tour in support of the new album. The full tour itinerary is available at ram-metal.com. The band will perform across Europe, with opening acts not yet specified. The tour begins on May 15 and concludes on June 22.
