The Ramones have been officially named for induction into the Hollywood Walk of Fame in the Class of 2027.
The announcement was made by The Walk of Fame Selection Committee and ratified by The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce’s Board of Directors.
The band will receive their star at the iconic Hollywood Walk of Fame, celebrating art and entertainment.
This recognition coincides with the 50th anniversary of the release of the Ramones’ self-titled debut album.
The Official Ramones 50th Anniversary Tribute concert is set for August 30, 2026, at Hollywood Forever Cemetery.
The event will be hosted by screen icon John Travolta and feature a live performance by Cretin Family, a supergroup including Tim Armstrong, Billie Joe Armstrong, Travis Barker, and CJ Ramone, along with surprise guests.
The tribute will also include a double feature screening of the 50th Anniversary Deluxe edition of Carrie and John Travolta’s new film, Propeller One-Way Night Coach.
Shepard Fairey will present a guest DJ set, with all proceeds supporting David Agus MD Cancer Research at the Ellison Institute.
Rhino Records released a limited edition picture disc pressing of the Ramones on July 17, 2024, and a 2LP colored edition of the band’s Live at The Roxy, 8/12/76 on July 31, 2024, as part of its Spirit of ’76 campaign.
The Ramones’ debut album, released in 1976, is widely credited with igniting the punk rock revolution.
