The Ramones have been officially named as honorees in the Recording category for the Hollywood Walk of Fame Class of 2027, announced by The Walk of Fame Selection Committee and ratified by The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce’s Board of Directors.
The ceremony will take place in 2027, marking a significant recognition of the band’s legacy in music.

Fast, loud, and full of raw energy: the Ramones." The news coincides with the release of The Official Ramones 50th Anniversary Tribute, set for August 30, 2026, at Hollywood Forever Cemetery.
Hosted by screen icon John Travolta, the event will feature a live performance by the Cretin Family — a supergroup comprising Tim Armstrong (Rancid), Billie Joe Armstrong (Green Day), Travis Barker (Blink-182), CJ Ramone (Ramones), and surprise guests — performing classic Ramones songs.
The tribute will also include a double feature screening of the 50th Anniversary Deluxe edition of Carrie and John Travolta’s new film, Propeller One-Way Night Coach.
Shepard Fairey will present a Guest DJ set, with all proceeds supporting David Agus MD Cancer Research at the Ellison Institute.
The Ramones’ 1976 self-titled debut album ignited the punk rock revolution, with songs like "Blitzkrieg Bop" and "Judy Is A Punk" setting a new standard for raw, energetic rock.
Rolling Stone named the album the #1 Greatest Punk Album of All Time, describing it as a "mutant strain of blitzkrieg bubblegum" that "split the history of rock & roll in half." In addition to the tribute, Rhino Records released a limited edition picture disc pressing of the Ramones on July 17, 2026, and a 2LP colored edition of the band’s Live at The Roxy, 8/12/76 on July 31, as part of its Spirit of ’76 campaign.
