In a new interview with Mexico's Excélsior newspaper, LAMB OF GOD vocalist Randy Blythe defended his right to express political opinions.

He stated that it is important for those with a platform to speak out against injustice.

Citing an example from Mexico, he discussed how friends and neighbors were affected by the recent cartel violence.

Blythe emphasized the importance of using one's voice for positive change, saying "It's not built to accept the status quo, to stand in line." He also criticized people who say that musicians or entertainers should stay out of politics, calling them irresponsible if they don't exercise their right to speak up.

The vocalist expressed hopefulness about a better future and highlighted the need for citizens to engage with their governments through voting.

In general, Blythe sees fatalist attitudes in people and finds it "bums me out." He urged everyone to take action and not just complain when things go wrong.

This comes after LAMB OF GOD released their tenth studio album "Into Oblivion" on March 13 via Epic Records.

The album was produced by longtime collaborator Josh Wilbur and features recordings across multiple locations tied closely to the band's identity.
