RAVEN has confirmed that a new career-spanning documentary on the influential British/American metal trio is in the works.
The effort will build upon the band's previous documentary DVD, "Rock Until You Drop - A Long Day's Journey", released in 2013 via SPV/Steamhammer.
According to an interview with Jimmy Kay of Canada's The Metal Voice, RAVEN bassist/vocalist John Gallagher and guitarist Mark Gallagher have confirmed that the upcoming film will be a full-length documentary covering the band's history.
This effort follows their previous DVD release, which contained four hours and 30 minutes of concert footage from around the world.
Regarding RAVEN's plans for the upcoming film, Mark told The Metal Voice: "We pretty much worked out the details and we're starting work on it.
There's gonna be a RAVEN documentary, like a full documentary." John chimed in: "Even just our contemporaries, a lot of them are gone." The documentary will cover the band's history from its early days to its current status as a metal institution.
This includes their high-energy approach and influence on the development of thrash metal.
RAVEN's guitarist Mark Gallagher underwent emergency brain surgery last year due to an injury sustained during a show.
He has since made progress in his recovery, but still requires ongoing medical treatment.
The band has been touring extensively in support of their latest EP, "Can't Take Away The Fire", which came out in February 2025 via Silver Lining Music.
After the release of the documentary DVD "Rock Until You Drop - A Long Day's Journey" in 2013, John Gallagher told Songfacts about how the project came about.
He stated that the idea for a comprehensive DVD was kicked around back then but ultimately fell through due to lack of funding.
The band is currently on tour, with their spring 2026 North American tour dates set to follow the release of their next album.
According to John Gallagher, RAVEN has already planned an extensive tour schedule for 2027.
RAVEN's classic albums "Rock Until You Drop", "Wiped Out" and "All For One" virtually invented both the speed metal and power metal genres with the band consistently pushing the envelope while retaining its unique sound and attack — both in the studio and in their true element: onstage."
