In a recent interview with Metal Mayhem ROC, RAVEN frontman John Gallagher opened up about his health, six months after the band postponed its summer/fall 2025 European tour due to John's emergency brain surgery.

He expressed readiness for the band's upcoming North American tour, set to kick off on March 18 in Louisville, Kentucky, stating: "I am certainly ready for it, after all our little trials and tribulations.

I call 2025 our medical gap year." Gallagher revealed that he was on anti-seizure medication but is currently being reviewed later this week to see how he's doing.

He noted that his brother, RAVEN guitarist Mark Gallagher, had undergone ankle replacement surgery and a knee replacement, which were planned surgeries.

However, John's recent head injury and subsequent hospitalization for two weeks were not planned.

The frontman emphasized the band's readiness to hit the road hard in 2026 after addressing their medical issues: "That's pretty much our attitude, is we gotta make up for that lost time," he explained.

RAVEN will embark on a tour that spans right through May 3rd and then head out to Europe for a 15-, or 16-date run there.

The second leg of the tour begins in September.

In discussing his own recovery, Gallagher acknowledged: "With my thing, I'm currently still on anti-seizure medication, Gallagher also paid tribute to late guitarist Ace Frehley, saying: "Believe me, very few moments go by where I'm not reminded that I could be where Ace Frehley is," RAVEN rose to prominence in the early 80s as part of the 'New Wave Of British Heavy Metal' movement.

The band's trailblazing tours with METALLICA helped introduce them to American audiences, paving the way for future metal acts.

The band released its latest EP, "Can't Take Away The Fire", in February 2025 via Silver Lining Music.
