Veteran drummer Charles Watts has passed away at the age of 80, a loss for fans of The Rolling Stones.

Around the same time, a number of albums are celebrating milestones this week.

In 1998, Deep Purple's album 'Abandon' marked the band's final work with keyboardist Jon Lord before embarking on their world tour and later releasing the live album 'Total A Band On'.

Lynyrd Skynyrd also celebrated another milestone that year.

More recent releases include Disturbed's heavy metal album 'Indestructible', released in 2008, Satyricon's critically acclaimed folk metal release 'My Skin Is Cold', and Norwegian black metallers 1349's raw and aggressive album 'Revelations Of The Black Flame'.

Further back in time, bands like Primal Fear (with their live DVD plus CD), Godflesh, Burzum, Voyager, Armored Saint, Paradise Lost, Skinless, Adrenaline Mob, DGM, Doyle, eighteen visions' vocalist's debut solo effort 'We the People', and more have dropped music this week.

In fact, albums by Great White, Jorn, Miss May I, The One Hundred, Phobia, Secret Sphere, Sikth, Tankard, Tengger Cavalry, Unleash the Archers, Valenfyr's black metal album 'Fear Those Who Fear Him', and Wednesday 13 all reached milestone anniversaries.

This week sees further releases like Anubis Gate's progressive rock album 'Interference' and Avenged Sevenfold's heavy rock release 'Life Is But A Dream…'.
