Legendary hard rock bassist Rudy Sarzo has confirmed in a new interview with Gary Lopez of the #WhosABadass podcast that he is working on new music which he plans to release independently.
Sarzo discussed his musical direction, stating that it's similar to classic yacht rock.
He explained, "Well, some people label it yacht rock.
But to me, yacht rock, that era has the best not only compositions, but the best talent and the best engineering...
I'm basically writing and recording music that reflects that." Sarzo also reflected on his past work with QUIET RIOT and Ozzy Osbourne's band, noting that he connects with the period when playing songs from those eras.
He stated, "Every time I play that song on stage with QUIET RIOT, to me, I connect with that period...
But, of course, I'm playing it now." Sarzo plans to release his new music for streaming within the next couple of weeks.
The new music will be released independently, as Sarzo is not currently seeking a record deal.
He stated, "Oh, I will.
I will.
Yeah, within the next couple of weeks I'm gonna be releasing it, just [for] streaming ...
There's no record deal.
