Swedish power-metal giants Sabaton have announced the postponement of their upcoming North American tour due to health issues affecting bassist and vocalist Pär Sundström.

In a statement, the band confirmed that Sundström is currently dealing with inflammation in his arms and has been advised by medical professionals to rest in order to recover fully. While stressing how much performing means to them, Sabaton emphasized that health must come first and apologized to fans for the inconvenience and disappointment.

The band is already working to secure rescheduled dates and assured fans that their excitement to return to the stage remains unchanged. Ticket holders are advised to keep their tickets, as updates and new dates will be communicated through the official point of sale.

Sabaton also confirmed that their summer European tour dates are unaffected.

The North American run was originally set to begin on February 9 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, at the War Memorial Auditorium.
