Tampa Bay metal legend Keith Collins, founding bassist of Savatage and co-founder of Keith Collins Krunch, has launched a GoFundMe page to support him as he battles dementia.

Collins, a pivotal figure in the Tampa Bay music scene, helped shape the rise of heavy metal locally and globally through his work with Savatage, his radio show The Pit on 98rock, and publications including The Spike music magazine and the Tampa Bay Metal Awards.

Due to early-life circumstances, Collins is unable to qualify for social security benefits that could assist with his condition.

The GoFundMe campaign aims to cover his daily living expenses and legal fees to establish his identity and access the benefits he is entitled to.

His health challenges have prompted urgent need for financial and legal support.

Collins’ decades-long contributions to the music community—spanning performances, media, and mentorship—have profoundly impacted countless artists and fans.

As a former bandmate stated, 'Keith’s passion and dedication have left a lasting impact on countless lives, including mine.' The GoFundMe page is now live at https://www.gofundme.com/f/support-keith-collins-tampa-bay-music-legend.

Donations will directly support Keith’s well-being and help secure his future.

This campaign reflects both a personal struggle and a tribute to a foundational figure in heavy metal history."
