SAXON has confirmed the release of its 25th studio album, "Gods Of Thunder", which will be released on January 22, 2027, via Silver Lining Music. The album, completed and mixed by longtime producer Andy Sneap, is set for early release with the first single and video arriving in September 2026, available as a seven-inch vinyl. K. and Ireland, with additional international dates to be revealed later.

The tour will feature the return of SAXON's legendary 30-foot mechanized Eagle, except for the Cardiff show due to venue restrictions. The band's celebrated "Castles & Eagles" stage production will also be revived, offering one of the most spectacular live experiences in its history. The Eagle, originally constructed in the early 1980s, first appeared during a London rehearsal and has since become a symbol of the band. The tour follows a period of recovery for lead singer Biff Byford, who underwent a bowel cancer diagnosis in 2025 and received chemotherapy, leading to the cancellation of several 2025 shows.

Despite these challenges, Byford has returned to full performance capacity, with his voice described as strong and his stage presence praised by band members. Guitarist Paul Quinn stepped back from touring in early 2023 and was replaced by Brian Tatler, who has since toured with the band. Byford and Quinn remain the only original members in SAXON's current lineup. The band's last album, "Hell, Fire And Damnation", released in January 2024, was produced and mixed by Andy Sneap and Biff Byford.

The upcoming release marks a new chapter in SAXON's long-standing legacy, with over 23 million albums sold worldwide.
