British heavy metal legends SAXON have completed work on their 25th studio album, tentatively slated for release in late 2026.
Frontman Biff Byford confirmed the news in a video message shared Tuesday (January 27), stating, “We’ve finished the album now.” The release will follow Hell, Fire And Damnation (January 2024, Silver Lining Music).
Byford also offered a positive update on his health. In a video posted six months ago, he revealed that everything is clear following chemotherapy and a CT scan in his battle with bowel cancer—news that has reassured fans worldwide.
The upcoming album was mixed by longtime collaborator Andy Sneap (Judas Priest), continuing his long-running partnership with the band. The record is expected to arrive in autumn 2026.
The release marks SAXON’s first studio album since guitarist Paul Quinn stepped back from touring in early 2023. He has been replaced on the road by Brian Tatler, who currently tours alongside Doug Scarratt, Nigel Glockler, and Nibbs Carter.
With over 23 million albums sold and genre-defining anthems like “Denim And Leather” and “Princess Of The Night,” SAXON remain one of British heavy metal’s most enduring forces.
