In a recent conversation with Serbian hard rock/heavy metal journalist Jadranka Janković Nešić on her newly launched podcast "Rock Talk", bassist/vocalist Schmier of German thrash metal veterans DESTRUCTION shared his thoughts on the importance of full-length albums in an era where many mainstream music artists prioritize releasing singles.

According to a transcription provided by BLABBERMOUTH.NET, Schmier emphasized that album covers should reflect the style and lyrics of the music, saying: "It's important also that the cover matches with the style and the lyrics." He praised DESTRUCTION's past covers, calling them "good" and attributing their quality to working with skilled artists.

However, he expressed skepticism about artificial intelligence-generated art, stating: "I like to still support real artists," although acknowledging that AI is changing the game for music creation.

When asked if he would consider using AI to create new DESTRUCTION music, Schmier firmly declined, citing concerns about intellectual property rights and fair compensation for original creators.

This exchange took place in the context of DESTRUCTION's current lineup, featuring guitarists Damir Eskić and Martin Furia, along with drummer Randy Black.

Their latest album, "Birth Of Malice", was released in March 2025 via Napalm Records, following a spring tour supporting TESTAMENT on the U.S.

leg of their world tour.
