The Sex Pistols, a definitive sound in rock since 1976 and one of the most important bands in music history, will celebrate 50 years of punk this winter with their "Anarchy In The U.K." tour.
The lineup, which features Steve Jones, Paul Cook, and Glen Matlock alongside Frank Carter, will take the stage at various venues across Europe, including Dublin's 3 Arena (December 7), Edinburgh's Corn Exchange (December 9), Glasgow's O2 Academy (December 10), London's Brixton Academy (December 18), and London's Eventim Apollo (December 20).
Louder magazine described the tour as a "rip-roaring punk rock redux" while The I said it was a "full-throttle pure punk experience." Frank Carter's addition to the lineup brought new energy to the Sex Pistols' sound, with Louder stating that they sounded like the world's greatest punk band once more.
The Sex Pistols were instrumental in shaping the punk movement.
In 1976, they began playing gigs in London, causing mayhem at iconic venues like The Marquee and The Nashville.
Their music inspired a generation of musicians, including members of Joy Division, New Order, The Smiths, The Fall, and Buzzcocks.
The Sex Pistols released their legendary album "Never Mind The Bollocks, Here's The Sex Pistols" in 1977, capturing the rage and unrest of the time.
In October of that year, they signed to EMI and released "Anarchy In The UK," which became a anthem for a generation.
This winter's tour marks an important milestone in punk history.
Steve Jones noted that the experience was like a commando raid, with the band learning on the job as they took their music to the masses.
Paul Cook added that the message of the Sex Pistols was simple: just have a go and do whatever you want.
The "Anarchy In The U.K." tour will feature a mix of classic punk anthems and new songs from Frank Carter's time with the band.
