SHADOWS FALL drummer Jason Bittner has spoken about the status of the band's recording sessions for their long-awaited follow-up to their 2012 album "Fire From The Sky" in a new interview with Shawn Ratches of Laughingmonkeymusic.

Bittner revealed that the biggest hurdle has been trying to get longtime producer Chris Harris, aka Zeuss, locked in due to his busy schedule working with Rob Zombie.

Despite these challenges, Bittner expressed optimism about releasing new music this year.

"We're gonna get something out this year, we know, at some point," he said.

SHADOWS FALL recently released its first two singles in over a decade: "Souls Devoured" and "In The Grey", both of which were issued via the band's new record label home, MNRK Heavy.

When discussing how the band's songwriting approach has changed and evolved since their last release, Bittner noted that SHADOWS FALL knows what they do well together.

"Let's just say, I think the fire was under mine and Jon's asses, let's just put it that way," he said, referencing guitarist Jonathan Donais' schedule with ANTHRAX.

The band has been on hiatus since releasing their last album, but Bittner expressed excitement about SHADOWS FALL's upcoming album.

"I'm really excited about it," he said.

"I mean, I wish it could be sooner, but whenever we get something out, it's gonna be definitely well worth the wait." SHADOWS FALL has been on a break since releasing their last full-length album "Fire From The Sky" in May 2012 via Razor & Tie.
