In a new interview with TotalRock, SKID ROW bassist Rachel Bolan spoke about the band's ongoing search for a new vocalist.
Following the departure of Erik Grönwall more than two years ago due to health issues, SKID ROW has been auditioning singers from around the world through a unique partnership with Sweetwater, the world's leading online retailer of musical instruments and pro-audio equipment.
Bolan stated that they have received over 300 video submissions, with some coming from outside recommendations.
However, the band is being selective in their search for the right fit musically.
They will be bringing in several candidates to work with them live before making a decision.
Bolan emphasized that SKID ROW has had good luck with singers in the past, but it's been difficult finding one who can handle the demands of touring and also be a good 'hang' or team member.
He noted that when someone new joins the band, it's essential they prioritize their health and well-being.
The band members are not rushing anything and have the luxury of time to find the right person for the job.
They will continue auditioning singers until they find the perfect fit.
Bolan reflected on Erik Grönwall's tenure with SKID ROW, stating that he was a great frontman who had the support of fans worldwide.
However, the band is determined to move forward and find a new vocalist who can do justice to their music.
The search for the next SKID ROW vocalist has been ongoing since February 2022 when Grönwall left due to health issues.
Bolan stated that they have a few guys on their radar whom they are excited about, but nothing is confirmed yet.
The band's dedication to finding the right person shows their commitment to preserving their legacy and continuing to make great music."
