In a recent interview with Anne Erickson of Audio Ink Radio, Myles Kennedy provided an update on the status of the next album from Slash Featuring Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators.

Kennedy, who also fronts Alter Bridge, confirmed that recording is complete and the project is now awaiting mixing.

“All the tracks are recorded. I finished my vocals back in August of 2025,” Kennedy said. “Now we just need to get it mixed. The goal is to get it released soon. We’ve got this Alter Bridge tour cycle and album cycle, and then we’ll see how quickly we can put out some new music with Slash and the Conspirators.”

Asked about the musical direction of the new material, Kennedy suggested fans should expect continuity rather than reinvention.

“That band has a certain approach that we keep consistent,” he said. “I don’t think you’re ever going to get a synth-pop record. The fans expect a certain thing, and it’s what we do, so we try not to veer too far from that.”

Last October, Slash echoed those comments during an appearance on Trunk Nation With Eddie Trunk on SiriusXM, confirming the album was complete but would not be released until 2027.

“It’s done. We still have to mix it,” Slash said at the time. “But it doesn’t come out until 2027. I had to find a window where I could do a full-scale tour with the Conspirators, and 2027 is the real window for it. That’s when the record comes out.”

He added that the delay was strategic, allowing for a full touring cycle in support of the release.

“All things considered, I don’t like to hype a record up,” Slash said. “But I’m excited about it. The record’s badass.”

Slash previously confirmed in an August 2025 social media post that recording for the band’s fifth album had wrapped.

“Recording for #SMKC record number five is done today,” he wrote. “We all agree it’s one of, if not the best one yet. Unfortunately, you’ll have to wait until 2027. Too much going on next year to put it out. But it will be worth the wait. Full-blown world tour to follow.”

In a separate interview, Kennedy also discussed his role in the band’s songwriting process, explaining that his primary focus is on lyrics and melodies.

“Most of what I’m doing is lyrics and melodies,” he said. “Occasionally I’ll suggest a chord change for the sake of the melody. On Apocalyptic Love, when I played guitar on that record, there was a little more of, ‘Try this part and see how it helps the arrangement.’”

Slash Featuring Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators entered the studio in November 2024 to begin work on their fifth studio album.
