SLIPKNOT has officially announced the permanent removal of longtime member Sid Wilson from the band, ending his 28-year tenure.

The decision follows reports that the group had grown concerned about Wilson's behavior toward bandmates.

According to a source close to the band, the exit was the result of sustained issues with interpersonal conduct within the group.

SLIPKNOT had planned to announce Wilson's departure this week, but the release was delayed after TMZ first reported the development.

The band's guitarist Jim Root shared a cryptic Instagram post on the same day, referencing SLIPKNOT's 2008 track 'Til We Die, urging fans to question the information they receive.

Wilson, who joined SLIPKNOT in 1998, was known as #0 and contributed sound effects and background noise to the band's recordings.

He has also performed under the name DJ Starscream since the 2000s.

SLIPKNOT's most recent live performance took place at Inkcarceration in Ohio in July 2025.

Wilson and Kelly Osbourne, daughter of Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne, previously announced their engagement at BLACK SABBATH's farewell show in July 2025, shortly before Ozzy Osbourne's death.

The couple split in March 2025, with their engagement quietly ending weeks prior.

Their first child, Sidney, was born in November 2022.
