Santa Barbara-based metal/punk hybrid SNOT has revealed plans for their long-awaited new studio album.
The upcoming effort is being recorded with producer, engineer and mixer Chris Collier and will mark SNOT's first release with new singer Andy Knapp, who made his live debut with the band in January 2025 in Anaheim, California.
Mikey Doling stated that they are "excited about it" while Tumor chimed in: "It's our second record ever.
We've been around 30 years, so that's what's special about it." The new album will feature nine songs and is expected to be completed after the band finishes their current tour.
When asked about the musical direction of the new SNOT material, Mikey said: "It's more of the same.
It's funk, it's punk, it's rock and roll.
And it's aggressive, man." The band's live shows have been selling out with young fans singing along to their songs, a testament to the enduring popularity of SNOT's music.
Despite initial skepticism about Andy Knapp's ability to fill Lynn Strait's shoes, the new vocalist has won over even the most hardened critics with his high-energy performances and evident passion for the band's music.
Following Sonny Mayo's departure from the group earlier this year, Doc Coyle (GOD FORBID) has joined SNOT as their touring guitarist.
The news comes as a welcome boost to fans of the band, who have been eagerly awaiting new material from the legendary metal outfit since their 1997 debut album "Get Some".
With their upcoming tour featuring sold-out shows and enthusiastic crowds, SNOT is once again proving that they remain one of the most vital and relevant bands in the heavy music scene.
