SOUNDGARDEN will perform at the Seattle Seahawks' regular season opener at Lumen Field on Wednesday, September 9, against the New England Patriots, with kickoff at 5:20 p.m. PT on NBC. The halftime show will feature Taylor Momsen of THE PRETTY RECKLESS and Mike McCready of PEARL JAM. McCready will also perform the national anthem pregame in support of the Washington Innocence Project, a partner of the Seahawks Spirit Of 12 initiative.

Momsen, a longtime fan of SOUNDGARDEN and Chris Cornell, and McCready previously performed the band's classic song "Rusty Cage" at the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame induction ceremony in November 2025 at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. The event also included Brandi Carlile singing "Black Hole Sun" with Momsen on backing vocals and Toni Cornell singing "Fell On Black Days" with HEART's Nancy Wilson.

Original SOUNDGARDEN members Hiro Yamamoto, Kim Thayil, Matt Cameron, and Ben Shepherd were inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame. Thayil, Cameron, and Shepherd are currently working on a new SOUNDGARDEN album featuring previously unreleased recordings made with Chris Cornell before his 2017 death. The project is being produced by Terry Date, who previously produced SOUNDGARDEN's "Louder Than Love" and "Badmotorfinger" albums, with mixing conducted by Joe Barresi.

The band reunited in 2010, released the album "King Animal" in November 2012, and effectively disbanded following Chris Cornell's death in May 2017.
