Ukrainian metalcore band Space Of Variations has shared a new single from their upcoming album, Poisoned Art.
The album is set to release on February 13 via Napalm Records.
The song, titled “Parallel Realities”, showcases the band's ability to blend soft melodies with neck-snapping breakdowns, creating a captivating and emotional sound.
According to the band, the track was meant to be the first single from Poisoned Art, but became the last one before the album's release due to circumstances beyond their control.
Frontman Dmytro Kozhukhar explains that the song captures the final moment before the end – when fear fades, meaning becomes clear, and hope survives in the belief that we'll find our loved ones in another life.
Poisoned Art explores new facets of modern metal sounds, shedding its skin and continuing to push boundaries with heartfelt emotion.
The album's third full-length release was written during the darkest period of their lives due to the ongoing war in Ukraine.
This has resulted in an honest and fatalistic record that is not shy about adding a certain edge to their catchy choruses.
The album features diverse stylings, ranging from djent in “Halo” to fitting sirens in “Mayday”, blending groovy distorted guitars and unrelenting intensity with haunting melodic passages and subtle electronic textures.
The mix of pummeling ferocity with emotional depth continues throughout the album, before closing out with an atmospheric outro.
Poisoned Art will be available on vinyl, CD, and digital formats, and can be pre-ordered here via Napalm Records.
