Melodic death metal band Starkill has announced the release of their full-length album Hanging Up My Halo, set for January 22, 2027. The album marks a return to the band's melodic death metal roots after a pandemic hiatus, featuring aggressive guitar work, symphonic arrangements, and powerful choruses. The record was produced by Francesco Ferrini of Fleshgod Apocalypse, with synth contributions from Aleksi Munter of Swallow The Sun and Insomnium. It was mixed by frontman Parker Jameson, with drum mixing by Chuck Macak and mastering by Troy Glessner.

The announcement is accompanied by the release of the single "Death On Display," which features an official music video. The track serves as a preview of the new album's intensity and melodic structure, blending thrashy elements with cinematic orchestral flair inspired by video game boss fights.

Following a strong performance at Mad With Power Fest in 2024, Starkill has played numerous shows across North America, most recently alongside Edge Of Paradise and at Canada’s Loud As Hell Open Air Festival. The band is now planning a 2027 tour, building on their successful 2026 tour dates.

Hanging Up My Halo follows a legacy of growth starting with their 2013 debut Fires Of Life, and continues with refined songwriting and technical precision. The album is available for pre-order at Starkill.net, with exclusive merch packages now offered. Full band members include Spencer Weidner on drums, Parker Jameson on guitar and vocals, Tony Keathley on guitar and vocals, Sarah Lynn on vocals, and Kevin Spielmann on bass.
