JOURNEY keyboardist Jonathan Cain has fueled speculation about the possibility of Steve Perry rejoining the band on their upcoming tour with a recent interview.
However, Perry has shot down these rumors, stating that he won't be making any guest appearances or rejoining the band.
In an interview with Ultimate Classic Rock, Cain revealed that Neal Schon had been talking to Perry about the possibility, but Perry clarified his stance in a social media post on February 19.
In the post, Perry thanked fans for their continued support and acknowledged that he understands why people would hope for a reunion.
However, he emphasized that he's focused on exploring new creative work and enjoying his current musical endeavors.
Perry reunited with JOURNEY at the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame induction ceremony in April 2017, but didn't perform with the group.
His final full concert with JOURNEY took place in early 1987, and he's since gone on to pursue other projects.
JOURNEY will kick off their "Final Frontier" tour on February 28 in Hershey, Pennsylvania, with Cain announcing that he'll leave the band at the conclusion of the tour.
Perry will be continuing his solo work and collaborating with other artists, including a powerful duet with Willie Nelson on a reimagined version of JOURNEY's classic hit "Faithfully."
