In an interview with Minneapolis' 93X radio show The Pit, Testament frontman Chuck Billy discussed the band's creative engine and next album plans.

Speaking about the songwriting chemistry between founding guitarist Eric Peterson and new drummer Chris Dovas, Billy stated that they're already working on new material for their next record.

"Chris and Eric are actually working on the next record already," Billy said.

"They've already got, like, six or eight tunes almost ready to go for the next record." The band aims to get back into the studio soon, potentially in '27, to make another record.

This would be a relatively quick turnaround compared to some other bands.

However, Billy acknowledged that even five years is a long time considering his age.

Despite contemplating retirement, Billy emphasized that he doesn't have any plans on retiring and wants to keep writing music with the band.

Testament's latest album Para Bellum was released in October 2025 via Nuclear Blast.

The band will kick off their tour with Overkill and Destruction on March 14 at the Roseland Theater in Portland, OR.

The tour schedule includes multiple dates in the US.
