In a new interview with Héctor of The Chill Dude On A Couch, TESTAMENT vocalist Chuck Billy discussed the band's evolving songwriting process over the past few decades.

He explained that since the release of 'Titans Of Creation' in 2020, he has taken a different approach to writing songs, working closely with guitarist Eric Peterson and letting him provide unarranged music for lyrics to be written over.

This new method was found to be successful on that album, allowing each song to have its own personality rather than fitting into a unified record theme.

Billy noted that one of the most challenging songs from 'Titans Of Creation' was 'Shadow People', where he had to adapt his vocals to fit perfectly with Peterson's heavy riffing.

He stated that it took some time to adjust, but ultimately resulted in a unique and distinctive sound for the song.

This approach has continued into their latest album, 'Para Bellum', which was released in October 2025 via Nuclear Blast.

The album was recorded with Juan Urteaga and mixed by Jens Bogren, featuring artwork once again provided by Eliran Kantor.

Additionally, TESTAMENT welcomed powerhouse drummer Chris Dovas to the band, who brought a fresh energy to the group's sound.
