THE GATHERING will celebrate their 30th anniversary of the classic album "Mandylion" in 2026 with an expanded tour.

The band's lineup featuring vocalist Anneke Van Giersbergen and guitarist René Rutten will play approximately 30 shows across Europe, North America, and South America, concluding with a headlining appearance at Movistar Arena in Santiago, Chile on October 17.

The tour is a continuation of the band's celebrations for the album's 30th anniversary.

The lineup played several reunion shows last year to celebrate the classic album's milestone, including five sold-out shows at Doornroosje in Nijmegen, Netherlands.

They also previously staged a kick-off "try-out" concert on June 29, 2025 at Dynamo in Eindhoven.

The setlist for THE GATHERING's 2026 shows will be similar to their reunion performances last year, but with some additional songs.

According to René Rutten, the band still has to decide which other songs they will play.

In a new interview with Chile's iRock.cl, René Rutten discussed how the idea of the reunion and celebration tour came about.

He explained that THE GATHERING received their "Mandylion" gold album two years ago in the Netherlands and had a meeting where they discussed celebrating the album's milestone with a special tour.

The original lineup for the concerts consisted of Anneke Van Giersbergen, Hugo Prinsen Geerligs, Frank Boeijen, Hans Rutten, René Rutten, and Jelmer Wiersma.

The band celebrated their 25th anniversary in November 2014 with a one-time special show at Doornroosse in Nijmegen, where all past and present members of THE GATHERING performed on stage together.

Van Giersbergen announced her departure from THE GATHERING in 2007 to focus on her solo project AGUA DE ANNIQUE.

She has since released several albums and toured extensively as a solo artist.

In December 2025, Norwegian singer Silje Wergeland, who had been fronting THE GATHERING since early 2009, announced her departure from the band to pursue other projects.
