Innovative Mongolian rock group The HU continue to push the limits of rock and bring the world along with them on their latest single “The Real You,” out today (January 23) via Better Noise Music.
With this new song, they’re bringing Western music components to the forefront with a heavy, atmospheric sound, a hard-charging rhythm, and gritty and positively menacing vocals.
The track takes their Hunnu Rock, which blends traditional Mongolian instrumentation and throat singing with contemporary rock music, to an entirely new and breathtaking level.
“The Real You”—produced by Dashka (Dashdondog Bayarmagnai) and mixed by 5-time Grammy Award-winning producer, engineer, mixer, and musician Chris Lord-Alge—is available on all digital outlets here Link.
The HU’s Temka explains that the song is a representation of their forthcoming new album, while also asking listeners to not judge others but focus on themselves and therefore become a better person.
It’s derived from the Mongolian proverb, “Don’t worry about what is on top of a person’s head, just worry about what is not on yours.” The band has passionately brought Mongolian music to the frontlines, receiving the prestigious UNESCO “Artist for Peace” Designation in 2022.
They will be joining Iron Maiden and other notable bands at Knebworth Park in the U.K. on July 11 for their “Run For Your Lives” tour stop.
The HU have also announced a series of tour dates with Rob Zombie and Marilyn Manson, kicking off August 20 in West Palm Beach, FL.
Tickets are available now via The HU’s website here Link.
