Brazilian death/thrash metal band THE TROOPS OF DOOM has announced a significant lineup change ahead of its upcoming 2026 European tour.
Guitarist Marcelo Vasco is no longer part of the group, having made amicable exit after five years with the band.
His contributions were instrumental in shaping the band's sound and paving the way for their international success.
Taking over guitar duties will be renowned German musician Frank 'Blackfire' Gosdzik, known for his work with SODOM and KREATOR.
Blackfire's arrival marks a new chapter in THE TROOPS OF DOOM's history and solidifies its connection with the European thrash metal scene.
The band will embark on an extensive European tour in 2026, featuring appearances at major summer festivals like Wacken Open Air and Headbangers Open Air in Germany, Alcatraz in Belgium, and Vagos Metal Fest in Portugal among others.
Before crossing the Atlantic, THE TROOPS OF DOOM will perform in April at the Wacken Warm-Up Party in São Paulo alongside KORZUS, THE MIST, and KRISIUN.
In May, they will take the stage at the CDM Fest in Campo do Meio/MG sharing the lineup with ARTILLERY, VIPER, and other heavy metal forces.
The band is also set to release a new album in 2027 following their extensive European tour and has scheduled shows in Brazil throughout the year.
