The English rock band THE WILDHEARTS has announced that frontman and founding member Ginger Wildheart has been diagnosed with a rare but aggressive strain of cancer, mantle cell lymphoma (MCL).

The news was shared on social media by the band today, March 16.

According to the Mayo Clinic, MCL typically affects the lymph nodes, but it also can affect the blood, bone marrow and other tissues throughout the body.

While treatments exist to shrink the cancer size and help contain it, unfortunately, mantle cell lymphoma often cannot be cured.

Ginger is currently in fine fettle and continues to write songs for both THE WILDHEARTS and his solo projects.

The follow-up to 2025's 'The Satanic Rites...' album is being finalized with announcements expected later this year via Snakefarm/Universal.

Additionally, all previously announced THE WILDHEARTS shows will proceed as scheduled, with more dates still to be revealed in the coming months.

In a statement posted on social media today, THE WILDHEARTS expressed their gratitude for fans' support and reassured everyone that strength and positivity will prevail despite this challenging news.

Fans can look forward to seeing THE WILDHEARTS live at a venue near you soon.
