Legendary SLAYER frontman Tom Araya will take on a unique role this weekend, serving as the Grand Marshal for Sunday's Würth 400 at Texas Motor Speedway.

As part of the event's 30th anniversary celebration, Araya will deliver the command to start engines ahead of the Würth 400 (2:30 p.m.

CT, TV: FS1, Radio: PRN, SiriusXM).

"SLAYER, NASCAR reign in speed!" exclaimed Araya in a statement.

This appearance comes on the heels of SLAYER's high-profile performances this year, including a stop at Texas Motor Speedway for the inaugural Sick New World Texas music festival on October 24.

With a career spanning over four decades since SLAYER's formation in 1980, Araya has fronted one of the most influential and uncompromising forces in heavy metal.

The band's iconic status is cemented alongside METALLICA, MEGADETH, and ANTHRAX as part of the "Big Four." Their influence extends to selling over 20 million albums worldwide, including multiple gold-certified releases and a multi-platinum record.

SLAYER has released 11 studio albums and earned two Grammy Awards.

In addition to their select high-profile performances this year, SLAYER is celebrating the 40th anniversary of their genre-defining album "Reign In Blood" by performing it in its entirety with upcoming shows in Shakopee, Minnesota on September 4, and Los Angeles on November 13 and November 14.
